Hope
House of Scott County, Inc. is the result of a dream and the hard
work of the Scott County Crime Prevention Association and other
community members who have been working on domestic violence issues
for the last several years.
The shelter opened July 1, 1996 and is a 22 beds
facility for women and children. Hope House of Scott County, Inc.
is a private, non-profit agency. The shelter is funded by money
granted by the state and federal governments, United Way, private
foundations and donations from community organizations and individuals.
We do not discriminate against any person because of race, color,
religion, familiar status, national origin, or because they are
differently abled. Hope House offers services to people from Wise,
Lee, Scott, Dickenson, Russell, and Buchanan countries and the city
of Norton who have been physically, emotionally, psychologically,
sexually, or verbally abused by a boyfriend, husband, ex-husband
or same sex partner. Hope House charges no fees for any service.
We also respond to crisis calls referred to us by the National Hotline
and assist them with information, referrals and other support as
our resources may provide.
Hope House provides coverage 24 hours a day 7 days
a week. Staff and volunteers receive through training and have many
opportunities to upgrade training to keep their knowledge and abilities
current.

and Marion, VA.
